What is EarWell?

EarWell is the first and most trusted non-surgical, painless alternative to childhood ear surgery that corrects deformed and malformed ears. EarWell was invented in 2011 by Becon Medical in collaboration with the globally renowned Plastic Surgeon, Pediatric Plastic Surgeon and Craniofacial Surgeon, H. Steven Byrd, M.D., FACS.

When EarWell is applied shortly after birth, it transforms disfigured ears to a normal shape, quickly and painlessly. EarWell’s 98% success rate on over 600,000 infants documents its success and global appeal.

EarWell has become the standard treatment for non-surgical infant ear correction around the world. It is embraced and used at all major US hospitals and medical centers, including Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Johns Hopkins, The Cleveland Clinic, The Mayo Clinic, Stamford University Medical Center, Cedars Sinai, UCLA Medical Center, UCSF Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital, over 20 Kaiser Permanente Hospitals, and dozens of the finest Children’s Hospitals across the US. It is also applied in the offices of the most respected and experienced plastic surgeons, pediatric plastic surgeons, craniofacial surgeons, otolaryngologists and pediatricians in every US State. It has become the premiere ear molding choice in scores of countries on every continent except Antarctica.

Why Choose EarWell?

EarWell eliminates the physical disfigurement and embarrassment that affects children whose ears stick out or otherwise look different from the other kids. Teasing—and even bullying—happens to those who are different.

Since the cost of EarWell is often covered by private health insurance as well as public insurance (such as Medicaid and military insurance), parents can immediately avoid their child’s future embarrassment and humiliation for little or no out-of-pocket expense.

Once they know about EarWell, parents insist on it for their baby.

How Does EarWell Work?

A newborn baby inherits a high level of the hormone estrogen in his or her body from the mother. This store of circulating estrogen contributes to an increase in internal hyaluronic acid (an important component of ear cartilage) that keeps the ears soft and pliable, which allows for remodeling to a normal shape. Because these levels of estrogen and hyaluronic acid decline over a relatively short period of time, the successful window for EarWell treatment is quite narrow.

Your baby should be fitted with EarWell within the first 4 weeks of life, and the sooner the better.
